What is Dyneema?
Dyneema is the world's strongest fibre! It's 15x stronger than steel, 3x stronger than Kevlar and used in the most advanced bulletproof vests. This immense strength means it can make very thin fabrics exceptionally strong without increasing the weight. And that’s where Dyneema Composite Fabric (DCF) comes in.
DCF uses a lattice of dyneema fused between layers of film. They work together - dyneema provides strength and toughness, the film keeping it waterproof and providing cohesion.
This unique structure mean DCF has properties exceeding fabrics many times heavier than it, making it the holy grail of outdoor fabrics. For the first time, the lightest gear could also be the strongest.
DCF is a rare and export restricted military grade fabric made in just one factory in the USA. It was once known as cuben fiber after its inventor company – cubic tech, a sailcloth maker. It has zero stretch so stays as taught as when you pitched it, even in the worst storms. It is also 10x more waterproof than some silnylons, and is easily repairable with dyneema tape.

Sold by the HALF metre
To help out smaller projects, the fabric is sold as half metre (50cm/20”) cuts off a roll, not by metre (100cm/40”) cuts. The roll is ~137cm (54”) wide, so if you enter ‘1’ in the quantity option, you’ll get a 50cm x 137cm piece of fabric. If you want a 100cm x 137cm piece, enter ‘2’ in the quantity. A 300cm x 137cm piece? enter ‘6’. Please don’t get confused!
Continuous cuts
By default we deliver the fabric in the longest single piece possible (entering ‘4’ in the quantity should get you one long piece of fabric, not 4 short ones). However, the length of our rolls varies considerably. Whilst we can normally accommodate 400cm long pieces of fabric in a single piece, please note this is not guaranteed, and it is likely that pieces longer than that will be in multiple pieces. If having all your fabric in one piece is really important, please message or leave a note to confirm.
A sample pack is available with a small (5cm x 5cm) piece of each weight of fabric. Colours are random.
