Normal deodorant cans weigh over 150g, are crammed with aluminium, and for your typical thru hiker they just don't cut it.

TRUST anti-odorant is different. The aluminium free formula is extremely powerful and can work for a week (reapply every 3-7 days), even in tropical countries. A single tiny pot weighs 30g in total, (15g excluding the pot) delivering major space & weight savings (more than going stove less). Only a tiny smear is needed, so a pot lasts about 3 months, unlike mini deodorants which run out in a week.

TRUST are a UK brand and have been making anti-odorant for 15 years. Their secret is that they don't stop you sweating, instead they raze the bacteria that cause the stink in the first place. That's good as hikers need to sweat to stay cool. It's also good as most anti-sweat deodorants are no match for a sweaty hiker, and because their only anti-odorant property is to try and stop you sweating, that means they don't work for thru hikers. While it's a cliché that thru hikers smell terrible, TRUST essentially allows you to opt out of stinking, which is great for when you leave the Appalachian trail and smelling like a mountain goat is no longer socially acceptable. Really handy to have for the tourist bus into town, or on the zero day pub crawl. Combine it with the occasional scrub in a stream and washing your clothes at every opportunity, you could well be the best smelling hiker on the whole trail!

It's great for backpacking, biking and travel as well; can be taken through airports, it's so compact, and weighs nothing so you really have no excuse not to carry one. Half the weight is the tough crush proof jar, so if you can decant a smaller amount into a lighter container such as an earplugs case, you could end up with a sub 10g deodorant system!
